"This bike shop is awesome! I was a couple of days into riding the whole Blue Ridge Parkway and spending the night in Blowing Rock when my shifter and front derailleur locked up. I was stranded at my hotel until I found Rhoddie Bicycles on Facebook. I called them up and spoke with Brian. The shop wasn't even officially opened yet (their grand opening was in a few days). They were still busy setting up the shop, but Brian took the time to examine my bike, ride home to his house to get supplies, and fix my bike in about 45 min. It was a huge life saver! I was able to continue my ride on schedule thanks to Brian and his shop!"

"I'm biking the BRP and stopped at Rhoddies for a chain tool. Brian took a look at my bike, showed me why I didn't need a chain tool, showed me how to remove and replace the chain, and wouldn't accept payment since he hadn't actually sold me anything. He is extremely competent, ethical, and even offered to run the chain tool by my campsite later since he didn't have it in store (before we realized I didn't need one). I highly recommend Rhoddies to anyone in the area."

It was his idea since I already had indoor cycling shoes that fit and I had returned 2 pair of Look cleat shoes that were way too narrow and made my feet fall asleep. I went there for shoes, left with pedals and a demo to make sure I didn’t mess it up (which I did). He helped out further on the phone! What terrific service! So glad I picked them!"

"My 15 year old son is fairly new to the sport of Mountain Biking. He started with an entry level bike at Christmas of 2020 and has learned all he could about bikes and riding in general. He has hunted and researched and happened to run across a GT Sensor Carbon Pro bike that Rhoddie's had just posted. He called and spoke to a staff member there and he was treated so kindly despite the fact that he was a kid. He set up a time to look at the bike for today and he and my husband were so impressed with the staff. They were patient attentive, and eager to talk with my son about the bike and the custom parts that had been added. They were encouraging and very supportive and I can guarantee you that even though it is an hour drive for us to this shop, they have gained our business from here on out!"

"My experience with the Rhoddie Bicycle shop was amazing. I am on a weeklong cycling trip with a small group to ride the mountains surrounding Blowing Rock. I shredded my rear derailleur cable on the second day climbing Snake Mountain. I was not a happy camper that night and was worst casing about my trip possibilities. I showed up anxiously at Rhoddie first thing the next day and was immediately taken care of. Brian had to spend extra time extracting the cable and got me back on the bike that morning for my ride. The cost was way below what I expected. The shifting was perfect and Brian explained what happened and how to prevent it in the future. Two of my companions have also used Rhoddie’s with the same experience. I am definitely going back to Rhoddie in the future when I’m in the area. Cannot be beat!"

"By far the best bike shope in NC. I've taken the liberty to purchase a Scott Addict E-bike. "Yes I have sold out'. At age 53 well, anything can help these days. I've taken this bike from Boone North Carolina to Charlotte North Carolina to finally Blowing Rock North Carolina and I have to say that Matt at Roddie Bicycle Outfitters by is the best bike shop in the state if you have an issue on an e-ride bike. In Boone and Charlotte the only thing those shops did for me was charged me more money for a diagnostic care. I can do diagnostic care. So if you want your e-bike serviced correctly with the right shop and having excellent relationships with his dealers then why not head out to Blowing Rock North Carolina and giving Roadie bicycle a shot you will not be disappointed."

"This is why we patronize locally owned bike shops; my husband was on a long group ride in the Boone area, had a flat and the spare tubular was not holding air. Thank goodness he was close to Blowing Rock. A stop at Rhoddies and Brian got him back on the road quickly by insisting he borrow a whole front wheel (for safety) while Brian glued on a new tubular for my husband to pick up after-hours that evening. You don`t get this kind of service and care from an on-line store! I saw that a clown with a junk eBike he brought in for service got his feelings hurt when the guys told him the truth about the lack of quality of his bike and did not feel comfortable working on such a heap. That one single misguided review kept Rhoddie from their 5 star. Shame on folks who buy online and expect the local small biz to be all smiles. "Last week a buddy and I went to Rhoddie's to rent some bikes and try our hand at gravel riding. Brian went above and beyond. He set us up with two sweet bikes, helped us with the fittings, gave us directions and advice, patiently answered all my dumb questions - and if that wasn't enough - he loaned us a bike rack. "Wow, what an incredible experience we've had at Rhoddie! Matt is truly the ebike whisperer - his expertise helped us choose the perfect rides. Over the years, we've built quite the collection from Rhoddie, including two Topstone Neos, two Cannondale Synapses, and two Orbea Rises. And that's not even counting the multiple Cannondale Slates and Topstones we've also picked up! It's not just us who rave about Rhoddie. I have several friends who happily drive hundreds of miles just to buy their bikes and get them serviced here. Honestly, it's the best bike shop and group of people we've ever encountered. They're so knowledgeable that even my trusted bike mechanics down in Florida reach out to Rhoddie for advice!
